Short Description

LUO Dong obtained his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences for a thesis on scientific objectivity and invariance. He is now an associate professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Philosophy, Science, and Technology at the South China University of Technology. He works on the history and philosophy of mathematics and physics, philosophy of science, and comparative philosophy.

He also has strong research interests in traditional Chinese philosophy, especially Taoism, Chan Buddhism and the Book of Changes. He was an editor for the academic session of Longquan Temple in Beijing.

He is the Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Philosophy of Physics, a Council Member of International Alliance of Study of Social Epistemology, a Vice President or Steering Committee Member of several other Chinese national academic associations.

In his leisure time, he likes to meditate, climb, and listen to music.
