Short description

LUO Dong (born in 1986, Hubei) obtained his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences for a thesis on scientific objectivity and invariance. He is now an associate professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Philosophy, Science, and Technology at the South China University of Technology. He works on the history and philosophy of mathematics and physics, and philosophy of science.  

He also has strong research interests in traditional Chinese philosophy, especially Taoism and Chan Buddhism. He was an editor for the academic session of Longquan Temple in Beijing.

He is the Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Philosophy of Physics, a Council Member of International Alliance of Study of Social Epistemology, a Steering Committee member of the Chinese Association of Philosophy of Chemistry, and a Steering Committee member of the Chinese Association of the History of Biology.

In his leisure time, he likes to meditate, climb, and listen to music.
